Looking through the PPP political history, it does seem that the PPP is now trying to press ahead with its Communist agenda. One party state, oppression of of the paupers, and state assets grabbing. Soon all opposition leaders will be imprisoned and tortured. Watch my words. North Korea and China are scary examples of how the people in the street are forced to accept party rule and corruption. And Guyana has strong links with those regimes.

The answer is no. PPP Communists never believed in democracy. Don't forget their other ally Fidel in Cuba, one of the longest serving dictators in the history of mankind.
