Looks like these fraudsters are headed to jail where they belong. The level of fraud between doctors and lawyers along with other healthcare providers is what is stopping me from getting that refund check Obama envisioned when he signed the ACA. I hope they teach these leaches how one ends up when they become unsatisfied with doing the right thing.
This is worst than the Mafia giving your business protection for payment.
The whole US healthcare system full of kakishness!! I spoke to my brother about this and he said the Insurance Companies are a big part of the problem. The Insurance Cos want high billings and high reimbursement because they can justify a higher premium which is on a Cost+ model.
The Ins Cos require testing which the Doctors may feel is not needed but they must or risk being Blacklisted! He and his wife said they treat patients, know exactly what is needed, but still need to do all the unnecessary testing as the Insurance Co dictates it be done.
Few years ago, my son was injured while vacationing in Switzerland. He required surgery and a one week hospital stay. He was covered on my Plan here in the US. My Insurance Co was informed and ask that I send the bill. I received the bill and to my (and the Ins Co) surprise, it totaled $8,500 for everything! The Ins Co asked if I'm sure it correct as they reserved $75,000. They sent my the full amount, no deductible!
This is where the main objective of the ACA was not accomplished. President Obama was on point in the restructuring of the premium split but unfortunately, the Republicans sabotaged his efforts to enforce it. As a result, the consumers ended up paying the price. Take the example below. Prior to the passage of the ACA, the split was 55/45 in favor of healthcare providers versus healthcare underwriters. The ACA changed that massive injustice to 85/15 properly concluding that 15% was more than enough for the insurance companies. But because the ACA was sabotaged by the Republicans, its enforcement was never put in place. This allowed the insurance companies to still get their original take by increasing the amount they pay to healthcare providers. This is effectively the argument the CEO of the EpiPen company made when addressing Congress. She said that there are a lot of money in the system which makes it possible for her company to raise the price of the EpiPen by some 400% (or something like that). There is so much money out there in this industry that all the hospitals in South Florida are expanding beyond one's imagination. The example below shows an increase in premium of 300 percent. Another example of how the Republicans actions hurt consumers.
Another bunch of crooks are dentists.

Especially the younger ones. They are not even interested in normal dental care anymore. All they want to do is push high priced cosmetic dental care and unfortunately those are not generally covered. They don't want to do cleaning anymore. It has to be deep cleaning. Nowadays they want to lengthen your teeth. Beware of unscrupulous practitioners.
I do agree. I noticed a big diff between the Swiss and US dentists. Here they are quick to go for big money solutions!

Especially the younger ones. Hard to completely fault them though as college tuition is so astronomical that they have to find ways to pay it back or default like so many do. College fees is also a big and corrupted business. They even charge parking permit fees for online classes.
The entire system has a major structural problem and itâs not going away! Nothing to do with Democratic or Republicans! It has built up that way over decades!
The public attitudes also caused it as everyone wants everything at their fingertips! This has a costs!
A Turkish friend of mine in Canada went to Mexico to fix his teeth. He said that he added a mini vacation to the trip at the same time and he saw Cancun. The dental work in Mexico was much cheaper than Canada. He told me that it is a risk because if anything goes bad then a Canadian Dentist may refuse to fix the problem because they can recognize Mexican dental work.
