Vinyl is making a comeback with a younger crowd. If anyone of you want to get rid of those vinyl collecting dust. Please give me a shout.
Nice stuff Sean, i have lots of LP but have not played any for quite some time. I do have my stereo system still.
Thanks Boss.
Amral, dust them out and spin them.
I usually tell the wifey that the equipment cost a hundred here and there. She will kill me if she knows how much I spend on music but I just love music and a good movie.

I read that Zeenat's mother was a Brahmin Hindu and her father was an Afghan Indian who was the nephew of the Nawab of Bhopal. That means she is royalty. Imran should have married this girl.

Prash, Imran Khan knows best who suits himself temporarily or permanently. In 1963 when Rohan Kanhai married that UK girl, a girl sitting behind me in Form 2 at Central High School said: "Rohan should have married a Guyanese girl." But Kanhai knew what was best for himself.
When in US I go to the Thrift stores and would buy old vinyl for 50 cents each. You have to go through the pile to find the good ones, only English tunes. Recently I found the Beatles White album and a couple Tom Jones live, all for 50 cents each. If you are a fan of Country music there are tons.
In Toronto check out the Salvation Army stores, you pay a little bit more. Most of the stuff there are donated by the Estate.
In 1985

Sir Gilly has got a point. I don't think Zeenat is the type of woman who would cover up from head to toes like Imran's new wife.

In 1995 I found a new Beatles white album from 1968 record never played with the Album cover glossy in an antique store in San Francisco. The owner of the store wanted 50 us dollars for it. I told him to keep it.

Kanhai eventually got a nice younger brown skin Jamaican girl as his second wife. She gave him a young set of kids in the 1980s. She is probably in her late 50s early 60s now so she is no longer a young woman.

Zeenat is one of Bollywoodâs most beautiful woman. Kaz has good eyes.
Mumtaz was also an eye candy and so was the star of Pakeezah.

Thanks KP. I found a few Vinyl treasures at Value Village. Will check out Salvation Army.
Look at these new stars, however, we will be there one day.

The Bollywood King Sharukh Khan finally has some competition.
Dave nice video, it actually caused a lump in my throat when I thought what I had hoped would have been us one day

Agreed. Nice video!
There is something so beautiful and special about our music, culture and a generation which raised us and taught us so much. That video indeed touched the heart.
Vinyl is the best, my buddies band Anvil is bringing out there newest album early next year, it will be on my list. My son has a lot more vinyl than I, he has just over 700 albums of various genre in his collection.
700 is quite a collection. Those are worth quite a bit nowadays but every music lover knows that itâs about the love of music and he proves that he loves his music. What kind of Amp and speaker does he use ?
I am sure that his turntable is a technics 1200.
I saw a vinyl album in a record store the other day. John Coltrane's wife Alice Coltrane was big into Hinduism and she has an album of ancient hindu chants. The record store owner said it is a rare collector's item. He wants 200 us. I told him to put me on lay away for the Album because Christmas right around the corner. He said that he will think about it.

Those Older Beatles album go for quite a bit nowadays. I bought the entire Beatles collection at HMV when they were still in business. I never opened them and even though I am tempted to, there is something magical about them that prevents me from opening them.
Prash, have you ever listened to Amy Winehouse ? I spin her album quite often. How about Otis and Buddy Guy ? How about Jimi Hendrix ?

Those are some powerful musicians there
I liked Winehouse but I think she had some mental health issues. I am into Sam and Dave with Booker T and the MGs and my boy Sam Cook. Brooke Benton. I remember driving threw Canjie in a rainstorm one evening in the 70s and hearing "A rainy night in.Georgia" playing on the car radio.
O man, we all have a lot in common. Sam Cook for sure. Amy was gone too soon, an artist full of talent. Very sad. The thing I love about vinyl is that you interact with the album, there is something special about them. Donât forget the Eagles with Hotel California.
Imagine Cainâs son and his collection, that is impressive and special.
I agree. Hotel California was a massive hit in Guyana.

He has a Rega Plannar 3,he just told me he's now over 1000 vinyl. I came into 15 Beatles albums, one has a song in German, I gave them to him along with the posters that came with them. Not sure of the speakers, will ask when I speak with him next. You should get Hendrix (Band of gypsies) Buddy Miles was the drummer then.
A buddy of mine told me that Hendrix original vinyl is very expensive and hard to get also.
True. I picked up a coupled reissued albums at HMV at Vaughan Mills. Sadly, they closed down about a couple of years ago. Those albums are soooo good, Hendrix had magical fingers on the guitar.
Next Fri the band Hotel California (Eagles cover band) will be playing here and I am working that venue, maybe as bouncer, not sure as yet, theybetter doan put me in coat check unless there is a nice bird working with me.
Just today I was asked if I would consider playing at the new brewery/bar in town here, that would be great, right next to the docks, especially summertime, ooh lala.

Heard good things about Rega 3. My technics 1200 died and I picked up an audio technica 120x direct drive DJ style turntable. I love it and no longer miss the 1200. Hendrix Albums are hard to find. Will check Ebay. I will definitely get my hands on it. You are very generous to part with those Beatles gems.

Holy smokes. You are one lucky man. Good luck.
I love the eagles and own most of their albums. I even have Hotel California in SACD.

Thank you.
I don't mind passing on stuff to my son. At one time he was interested in opening a shop where he would carry instruments and vinyl, CDs but he's busy with the young daughter, no time for that at the moment, he even has her practicing on the drums ( she's just under 3yrs going on15 )
I wish him all the best. I guess his love for music has been passed on from you and now he passes on that to his daughter. Very nice.
There is a new market for Vinyl and audiophile equipment. A whole âiPodâ generation is now appreciating good music and sound and are starting to spin vinyl and play CDâs.
I'm hoping to get together with him to work on tunes I wrote, he has the equipment, a couple synthesizers and various programs to do a fair job of it. I'm heading to bed, got a busy day ahead, see ya.
Many of those singers were favourites of my mother, and because we didn't have TV in those days, i grew up listening to that style of music and eventually fell in love with them. My mother was a regular customer at Alphonso record store so she had quite a collection that she built up. She brought them to Cda with her.
When Columbia House over here had those promotions in the 80's where you can buy 10 records for 2 bucks or something like that, with the clause to buy more at a lower than regular price, I took advantage of the 10 records deal but found a way to avoid having to buy more. I must have pulled off that trick on them about 6 times.
Among my collection, Nat King Cole, Brook Benton, Perry Como, Elvis, Fausto Papetti, James Last, Engelbert, Tom Jones, Drifter,, Platters, Slim Whitman and many more.
Plus quite a few Indian Lp's
There was a Guyana radio show on Saturday night with Ayube Hamid. He use to play the Platters, Perry Como, the Drifters and Johnny Mathis all the time.

Very nice. Hindi Vinyl are so expensive nowadays. You have a very nice collection there.
