Often we have to remind ourselves that the coalition government unseats the PPP after 23 years of ruling Guyana. We are midway of APNU's first term in office. The most anticipated election is approaching and Guyanese are NOT commenting on coalition performance in government. It's only fair to ask GNIers their thoughts on APNU's performance in government to see if they are worthy to be re-elected in 2020.

SAME OLD RACIST, VIOLENT, INCOMPETENT BUNCH OF ASSES!!!!
F-
PPP/APNU loyalists need to take neutral positions to make unbiased assessments of government performance.
Is the country or the people any further ahead than when the PPP left office?
I am not a PPP/APNU loyalist. However, there is still a ubiquitous public perception of corruption involving officials at all levels; most noticeable with the police and the judiciary.
A+

The public perception of corruption applied directly to officials of APNU, police, judiciary, etc?

Perhaps we should wait to 2024 to do a review...after the next election term.

Contextually, is this the optimal use of this word? I believe the better choice of words would be pervasive or widespread or common!

Typical Guyanese mediocrity. In this great USA, in eight years your max time is up. After a year or two, any new administration is taken to task for promised deliverables.
Trump came into power one year after the PNC and he already delivered a massive Tax reform package, already modified hundreds of regulations to facilitate investments, provided a platform for the economy to go on overdrive...just a few, not getting into foreign policy.
The US is 320 Mil and 17 Trillion GDP while Guyana is 750k and the economy of Liberty Avenue and they must be given eight years to be measured.
No wonder Guyana is a failed state!

In my view, it is a bit too early to classify Guyana as a failed state. Granger's most significant act since taking office was painting government house green and, more recently, adding a band of green to the Guyana flag; without any parliamentary discussion or approval. The economy has certainly lost most of the steam that it had when he took office and those of us who visit Guyana frequently or have relatives who are directly involved in business there will undoubtedly confirm that there has been significant decline in business and economic activities. Having been there very recently for a bit more than ten weeks, it was readily evident that Granger and his gang have decided to set their sights solely on revenue which they expect to receive from EXXON. However, it is now public knowledge that, despite copious warning from others who previously did business with EXXON, the Guyana government rushed into the contract in a most amateurish manner. In short, Guyana will be financially screwed big time but Granger, Harmon and other government officials continue to maintain that they got a good deal ! One must therefore wonder who was ultimately responsible for signing and ratification of this egregious document. In plain & simple language, Guyana will be financially raped by EXXON !!

Great! The Guyana success story!!
I wouldn't consider the painting of green and the added color of the flag to be a big deal. Guyana is actually green from high above. But in this case, the PNC is more into their party imagery to put a face on everything. I am looking at that they have achieved and what is on the agenda to be completed before 2020. Also, on job creation, unemployment, the economy, crimes, etc.
