Good night.
None of you on this forum never knew or even suspected that the government could be taken down by a vote of no confidence. I think we all are a bit myopic when it comes to the real world of politics, especially our senior members. ðĪðĪðĪ

Maybe a political genius, but driven by ego and power, while leaving many behind. A one man show is not a team player.
He wasn't a one man show the other day. He even convinced Charrandas to defect. Plus he was not the only one from his side who made presentations.
That was one event. A major event, but still one. But why is he perceived to be the influence and controller of the CC and the party ?
Many still see him controlling things when the presidential candidate is selected and even after they become the president. Similar to Ramotar's time in office.
Jagdeo will have to back off, if the PPP is to grow larger. But it is believed that his personality will not allow him to do so.
Jagdeo was not really on the scene between 2011 and 2015. But when he assumed the very pivotal job of Opposition Leader in 2015, he quickly returned the PPP to relevancy. I know someone who worked very closely with Ramotar and she would say that Jagdeo was not in Ramotar's ear. Ramotar was just a very weak leader and he paid the price for it. When Ramotar came to Florida for a fund raising before the 2015 elections, he brought Irfan Ali with him, not Jagdeo. That fund raising was at my cousin's house and my cousin is Jagdeo's friend so if Jagdeo was in Florida, he would have been at my cousin's house. As Opposition Leader, he does have influence. Just ask those Coalition people how much he scares them. But he cannot remain the face of the party when a new presidential candidate is names or he would undermine that candidate's image. But he will be very effective campaigning during the elections next year. Clinton has already made her name even before anyone knew who Obama was and still she needed his presence at campaigns when she was running for president. No one argued that she was weak and needed him to make her look strong.
Ramotar did not dress properly nor did he speak properly. He did not do much to motivate the PPP's base to go out and vote. He was one boring dude. Sorry to say that.

At the end of the day, he is a major asset for the PPP.
Al Gore shoved A popular Bill Clinton aside and lost an election that he should have won. We must learn from history.
The PPP presidential candidate still needs A valuable asset as jagdeo. The next candidate will chart his or her own course.
The opposition can say whatever they want but the PPP will do what the PPP has to do to win. As a business person, I never let a valuable employee leave. Same with a political party.
Dont take this personally but many of Jagdoeâs opponents repaet what they heard from their party of choice and what KN said in the past. That is far from reality. We must have an open mind and think for ourselves in forming opinions. We must not try to please our friends all of the time but openly let our friends know that we can think independently of them. Trying to please everyone does not allow you to become independent and think outside of the box.
Politics is like running a business, it can become ruthless at times. The weak do not survive in business. You have to always be one step ahead of the competition.
The AFC and PNC were stuck in opposition mode. The debate proved my point. Instead of standing on their achievements and records, the AFC PNC were debating as if the PPP was the government. That was a brutal failure.
I agree. All the harping that as long as Jagdeo is around the PPP, it will remain the Opposition party. No one knows which party will be in government after next year's elections but since Jagdeo re-emerged after the 2015 elections, all he has done is put the PPP party ahead of the others. The reality on the round does not match what those who don't like Jagdeo say.
Jagdeo does his homework well. He spends a great deal of time doing economic and political analysis.

No need to be sorry saying that. Ramotar was not instrumental or even inspirational. He doesn't have Jagdeo commanding presence. Jagdeo wold oxygen to another country and he didn't even have to ship it to them. No FOB designation required.

The Coalition MPs were so unprepared with their presentations. At one point, they even disowned their own manifesto.

They came in with the intention to pound desks and howl at PPP leaders . The coalition's big truck got puncture and nobody could have fixed it. The nation had a big laugh.

Dem boys thought that all they needed to do was moan and groan about Granger's health and Grinch and all will be well. One can talk only so much about Granger's health and Grinch. While they were busy doing that, the PPP was whipping their asses.
