That's mainly because the flood water drags the rubbish away when it resides.
Georgetown was neglected by the previous government.

They people can be taught to clean up after themselves. Might take a while, but with good motivation and discipline, it can be done. I'm happy with what I'm seeing and reading this far.

The floods do wash the garbage into the ocean. It is the reason they pile up on beaches and seashores everywhere

WE need a system for clean up, not just random acts of cleaning up.
If PPP had invested the $60M US Bharriot $$$ in a system for garbage collection - trucks, machinery, mowers, etc., country would be better off.
Coalition should have created a Ministry of Tourism and the Environment as they go together.
