the people of guyana, hopefully, will clearly see that administrators are meant to serve, and can be dispatched if they opt for corruption, self-aggrandizement and unaccountable wealth.

The PPP misused their long-awaited opportunity and tarnished themselves beyond redemption, in my opinion.

Now it is for the people to ensure the new government does not pursue a "business as usual in Guyana's politics" disposition with continued corruption and nepotism.

Hopefully, Guyanese will adopt a more active attitude in their political, social, economic future.

Hopefully, we're seeing the beginning of the end of racism in Guyana.

Anta, as they say "absolute power corrupts absolutely". The locals and diaspora will have to hold the new government accountable. Most importantly constitutional reform is needed. The then opposition wanted it, now is their chance.

A good start for reconciliation may be to make a member of the opposition the speaker of the house.

If the constitution allows it, why not some one from civic society.
