Any such discussion makes sense if you go by the category of Indian foods - and there are many; for example South Indian foods, Tangra (and I love this); Hakka Chinese-Indian, etc.

I never went to Utsav--but I was walking along 47th street recently headed towards Broadway---and I saw Utsav---they advertised their buffet for 17 or 18 bucks---I'm not into Buffet---wish I had a big appetite. I'll have to check them out one day.

There is another Indian restaurant called Brick Lane Curry house----they have a location on 53rd street off 2nd ave----my sister lives around there----she invited me there for lunch one day---the food was good----no particular ambiance---the place is small---but I enjoyed the food---and that's what matters-----good food.

What part of Manhattan stinking ? Harlem ? Chinatown ? 14th street ? Delancy street ? Canal street ?hahaha

RE: HOME COOK FOOD

That is a luxury---the best---give me a dhall and rice and coconut choka or a gilbaka curry anyday.

By the way nehru--you are right not to live in Manhattan---if you wife cooks curry---the whole building will have that unique aroma--- your neighbors might call the police and get you evicted.hahahaha

The buffet must be lunch only. I do dinners there and it's not buffet.

Brick Lane is also in the lower East Side - East Village, and it takes its name from Brick Lane in East London, UK, where a lot of the East African Indians migrated in the 70s. Good food there too - different from Southhall near Heathrow.
