The problem is the PPP is in no position to take advantage of these developments that you mentioned above. They need to reshape, regroup and redesign themselves. They have the power of 50% but they have to reform the party before they can have a serious impact on the political changes being implemented by Granger.

Well I have expressed the opinion that few Indians voted for the coalition.  Take that argument up with Kari, TK or others who think otherwise.

Granger will never bridge the racial divide into a united nation. As of today, he hasn't sent a formal request for the PPP to join them in this unity govt. Half of the country's population left out in the dark.

PPP needs to stop whining and get on with the business of being an intelligent, decent and credible opposition.

Don, I read this accusation before and tried to verify it but couldn't. Burnham had no say in the Colonial Office's decision to let go of Guyana on May 26, 1966. If you can provide the relevant historical record to show that Burnham picked May 26, I shall be indebted to you.

Burnham said it himself in his Independence speech on May 26th, 1966 .

Can you post a transcript of that speech? Hearsay isn't evidence.
