I don't care for theatrics. There is so much in that clip that seems made up. My guess is that it wasn't long before those kids forgot what he told them. That is because like him, life lessons can't be learned by a few minutes of make believe acting.

In a sense you are correct but sometimes all it takes is for one person to soak in the message. 25 + years ago I heard a guy mention he drank everyday for many years. One weekend he and three buddies went fishing, they got sloshed and passed out in the small hut they rented, but he felt the need to throw up so he went outside by the lake. He passed out by the lake and when he awoke the sun was rising and he walked back to the cabin only to find all three buddies had died from poision fumes coming from a heater that had fallen over.

The memory stayed with me and has been one of the reasons I have not had a drink since then. We live to die but no reason speeding up the process.

I am not against the lessons, only the theatrics. We learn from life lessons all the time. I tell my kids about our experiences in Guyana they appear to learn from it. I remember how impressed my son was when I pointed out to him all the places in Guyana that my dad worked. The antics are usually over the top for me.
