International softball CUP 1 commences today

Softball fans on the East Bank of Essequibo will be in for a treat this weekend when the Suren Shaw organised ‘International Softball Cup1’ tournament commences today at Parika Cricket Ground.
The tournament which will be played in the Open category will continue tomorrow and concluded on Sunday at the said venue.
The teams set to participate are SVC All stars of New York, Hillfoot, Regal All stars, Success, Dutch 4, Omesh XI, Queen’s Softball Cricket League and Essequibo.
The winning team will take home $700,000, runner’s up $100,000, MVP $100,000, man-of-the-match in the final $50,000; trophies are also up for the taking.
No entrance fee is required and admission to the venue is free; gates will be opened at 11:00hrs for the final will start at 13:00hrs on Sunday. Live DJ, tassa dance troop, bouncy castle and free food will be available.
