I have been reading on them. There are over 1000 species. They grow from seeds but can be grafted. We graft them at home in Guyana or plant those with ( eyes). They need about six years to grow to maturity but by that time they second third and forth generations are already growing by themselves as the root spawn new sprout .

bamboo can be used from flooring to wood tiles, to plywood, parquet floors or anything basically. They are also wonderful as the bulk for biomass fuel.

Indeed, Stormborn. There were lots of bamboo trees at Mackenzie, Watooka, Wismar, Speightland, Christianburg, and One-mile area. One of the great joys as children was making the heads of kites from bamboo strips, plus "firing off carbons" from pieces of segments from the bamboo.

Made from bamboo
I spoke to Gerhard about this wayyyy back when I met with him. I once had socks made from bamboo, very soft pair of socks they were.
There are a few plants outside our building and each year in the fall they are cut back to nothing, right now they are about eight feet high. Eight feet in a year is good growing.

We have lots of acidic areas where they can strive, But there is a variant bamboo for any soil. I t is a thing the government can bootstrap easily rather than give the land to the Trinis and Brazilian to plant rice
The Govt can bootstrap a lot of things but they are incompetent.
Brazil is planting soy on a massive scale Guyana nothing.
Quinoa is a massive market out here. Same thing dead on arrival in GY.
The GY govt is only interested in activity where they can get an instant kickback and you cannot build anything sustainable in that kind of an environment.

Pt Rama, you can use for Jhandi. Go and visit China and get educated. How things at GPL.
The good luck bamboo shoots that Chinese sell to Guyanese consumers are very profitable. Guyana should consider growing them. When it comes to luck, the Chinese laughing all the way to the bank while Guyanese people go brook from relying on luck. I am tired of rubbing Budha's belly for good luck.
