Dead is Gavin Fiffee, of 93 Sideline Dam, Beterverwagting.
According to reports, the driver was loading his minibus at the Plaisance bus park when another man began urinating on the wheel of the vehicle.
This angered passengers and when Fiffee confronted the man, an argument ensued, at which point in time the man who was urinating on the bus stabbed him to the upper right chest.

According to reports, Fiffee’s attacker was identified by eyewitnesses as an Ann’s Grove man called β€˜Bad Boy.’
Fiffee was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) by a public spirited citizen.

He was bleeding profusely and despite a valiant battle by doctors to save his life, he succumbed on the operating table.
Fiffee leaves to mourn the mother of his children Antonia Beveney, who is also eight months pregnant, as well as his two daughters and other family members.

Scores of relatives and friends converged at the hospital upon hearing about the killing and some were inconsolable.

I agree with what you're saying. When something of this nature happens, people tends to generalize and blame the entire system.

Please give me an idea how this incident could have avoided?

The govt would first have to have regard for law and order.

The govt do have regard for law and order. What is this incident has to do with the govt?

The government has failed to take care of llittle things so we get small disrespects everywhere and complete break down of the legal system from top down.

It does not take care of noise pollution, speeding vehicles, over loaded mini busses, the epidemic of drivers on the road who never took a road test, failure to have an on going land court that actually tries cases if property disputes ....and the list foes on to cases never investigated properly to cases never trying to glaring break down of t he law where murderers caught on camera walks etc

People already know they will go to jail for life if they kill someone. If that doesn't fear them, then what strong message can change their mind?  It's more about the break down in society where people become short tempered and snap. Young men at 16 years of age are killing and involved in gangs today in Guyana. They have no fear for law and order.

D2, You are on the money. They don't seem capable handling crime whether it is a small or large one.

look at the PPP.  One minister pistol whips some one in a bar over some woman.  No punishment.  Another drives drunk and flees an accident.  No punishment. Another is accused of harrassing minors.  No punishment.  and yet another drives into a cro9wd of PNC supporters on MORE THAN one occasion.  A slap on the wrist.

So why do you expect any better from this ignorant individual when the people who ought to know better behave no better than he does?

Guyana is lawless from top down, and bottom up.
