Speaking to a group of about thirty eight residents at a PPPC meeting at Karabisee, near Bartica, Minister of Public Works and Transport Robeson Benn told the residents that, “despite the mismanagement and arrogance the PPPC”, they will still win the 2011 elections. In what those who attended called an angry tirade Minister Ben is reported to have said, “We cannot come out of power. Never! Over my dead body!” He then went on to say, “…despite our misbehavior and arrogance we will win…”
Residents who spoke with One Voice News Network said that they are living in fear.

There are reports of a group of gunmen who are traveling around the Bartica area in a minibus. Also a speedboat was recently stolen from Lashley’s boathouse on 5th Avenue, and this is also believed to be linked to the armed bandits now patrolling the mining community.

APNU supporters who have a meeting planned for later today said they will be seeking extra protection from the police. The supporters say they stand steadfast in their efforts and will not be intimidated,they said that they will not retaliate if attacked but are insisting that the Guyana Police Force provide the them and all residents with the protection they deserve.

The signs are ominous, the government giving orders for the GDF to fly low level missions over Georgetown, the purchase of a water cannon that Minister Rohee has boasted is for use against the civil populace, the out of control and demented Kwame McCoy unleashed on Guyanese citizens, Shawn Hinds, the armed gang in Bartica and now Robeson Benn.
