Jagdeo briefs Western diplomats on no-confidence vote
-has no plans to attend next session of Parliament
Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo earlier today met with representatives of the major western missions to brief them on the recent passage of the no confidence motion against the government and to outline the party’s concerns.
The one-hour meeting held at Jagdeo’s Church Street office saw the attendance of officials of the US, Canadian and British missions as well as the European Union.
Jagdeo while not wanting to go into details told reporters that the “briefing went well.”
None of the officials wanted to offer a comment when approached.
Additionally, Jagdeo said that the party has no plans to attend Parliament next Thursday and is open to meeting with the government before then to discuss elections matters.
