President Bharrat Jagdeo

Speculation surrounding President Bharrat Jagdeos net worth has arisen in the campaign trail. Many top government and non-government officials are alarmed at that fact that most countries can tabulate its leaders and business’s value and earning yet it is a difficult task to accomplish in Guyana.

Sources said that President Jagdeo has acquired a mass amount of wealth throughout the years of his presidency which includes but not limited to thousands of acres of land, noticeably in the Lethem area where the new Brazil/Guyana Bridge was constructed and also several homes in the United States and Canada.

Guyanapress.com received several documents from unknown sources showing top government officials using their positions to acquire mass wealth, quite noticeably was President Jagdeo’s name as a shareholder in a somewhat corporate group that has bought and owns several large businesses and properties in Guyana and the U.S.

Guyanapress.com has acquired documents showing the value of top government officials and is working with its legal team to figure out the extent of how much of the information can be divulged legally.

Pure speculation based on ignorance..

Questions being asked in an environment where accountability and governance is vitrually absent. One looks at such issues and harps hack to the PNC era and the entrenched arrogance of that era where LFSB and his cohorts would simply respond with "find-tek". Acutaly, the PPP led many of these accusations. This is text book animal farm.

Let's be realistic about pocketing money. Nobody asked LFSB to return the money he stole from Guyana, and if Jagdeo admits that he has a billion dollars stashed. No one can force him to pay back or prove that it was stolen. Every president stole Guyana's wealth and Granger, and Ramjattan is waiting for their turn to rape the treasury. So, don't tell me the next president is a saint. Oh, let me also add that all of you are hoping that your party win so the return favor kicks in. I mean securing a position for yourself and family. Guyana politics is who know who, like the song. The beat goes on.

The onus is on BJ to prove this letter wrong. A man made an allegation that he is a cheat and he needs to say as the head man in GT that he is not a cheat and why.

I tell you this, you sound exactly like Burnham. You have to prove, but he would not allow any audit or investigation of the Rail assets, just one example. The PPP = PNC = corruption = arrogance, clear as daylight.

In that case 75% of Guyanese needs to give explanation on how so many of them can afford to build so big houses with low salary .

True, but how can anyone, including the President start when they are doint the same. Tone at the top is hugely influential. BTW, I do know a few people who got visits from the GRA due to their visible assets. But I guess no one will ever question BJ.

Both the PNC and PPP have their records to be judged by. Don't pass judgement on the AFC through the prism of the PPP/PNC.

AFC, PPP, PNC. they all the same. But we all have to live with what the majority people wants.

The AFC already had a voluntary change in leadership. How similar is that to either. In the PPP and PNC one must be incapacitated or dead for succession to occur.

I wonder waht displays of wealth did Burnham and his family display when compared to Jagdeo. Even more than 25 years after his death!!!

Whatever Burnham stole was pennies compared to what Jagdeo does.

As a percentage of the GDP, LFBS was a bigger thief. Now thatdon't make the PPP corruption right either, two wrongs don't make a right, PPP=PNC.

The problem that I have is that we have seen NO evidence of this wealth. Have you heard that his daughters live in mansions? They seem to be scrunting like most college educated upper middle class people.

Jagdeo's wealth in his mansion is there for all to see.
