Cobra, this might be difficult for you to believe, but if you work with youth groups in Guyana, where many youth commit suicide, you will find many young adult male take their cue from Jagdeo lifestyle.

In some groups, guys would spit on young women face, when the women try defending themself because of a put-down by the guy. It is easy to see a trend where some men who are unable to communicate adaquately, turn to violence. If drugs and alcohol are added to the mix, the result is much more serious.

In one remote group, Jagdeo non-marriage was a big issue. Most guys feel women should be put in their place and they agree with Jagdeo kicking out his wife, even though they dont fully understand the reason.

Fortunate for some groups, the youth lives are stablizing with jobs, housing, marriage and starting a family.

My point is : the role model set by Jagdeo during his term in office has influenced negatively on many young men [and old], resulting in domestic violence and in some cases death of the woman.

We have to take Jagdeo's character into account. Most kids who have been sexually abused when they were young, especially when it involves a male-on-male abuse, are more often than not mentally scarred for the rest of their lives. This can manifest itself in many forms, including inability to obtain an erection when confronted by the opposite sex.

It is hard to believe that a president would have such negative impact on its citizens for them to take their own lives among other things. I believe the western exposure, and television greatly impacted the youth's life to where it is today. When you allowed your profession to associate with politics, it has the same negative effects on youths. You should be warned that you may be contributing to the high rate of suicide among our youths. I am not buying into this notion, Tola.

You can not blame the ills of the world on Jagdeo. Broken marriages existed in Guyana even before Jagdeo and will continue long after. In fact Jagdeo set a very important precedent, do not stay in a loveless marriage, a problem that is pervasive throughout the Indian community. I have seen many women and men stay in abusive marriages for the sake of tradition and morals and it serves no purpose but to make both parties unhappy.

Yes comrade but you must admit that people look up to his Excellency and they do pattern their behavior after leaders this has been documented since the time of the cave man.
