Jagdeo calls for Bond to be arrested
Former President Dr Bharrat Jagdeo has called for A Partnership For National Unity’s James Bond to be arrested and face the full brunt of the law for conducting what he perceives to be an “exit poll.”

This comes after Bond would have revealed on social media that some 98 percent of the disciplined services would have voted in favour of the APNU+AFC coalition. That figure was later revised to 94%.
Both the Guyana Defence Force and the PPP/C have expressed alarm and concern at Bond’s revelation and has called on the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) to take “immediate and decisive” action, given the fact that ballots from the Disciplinary Services have not been counted.
Jagdeo made the calls while speaking at PPP/C’s Bath Setlement Rally where he questioned “how could James Bond know about the military vote that took place last night and it was not counted. How did he know about Whim and the percentage about how much they got and how much we got? It’s impossible to do that. Remember we talked about subverting the military, about subverting the Police?”
He went on to say “It is illegal and we have to charge him now. We have to charge him and send a signal to this country…and so I ask the people who are entrusted by our Constitution and our laws to make sure that our elections are organised properly in this country. That we do not sit and become complacent and view these attempts as isolated and average, but how do we deal with these illegal attempts leading up to the elections to subvert the polls will do a lot with what takes place on Elections Day.”
Bond has already stated that while his comments are unethical they are in no way contrary to any part of Guyana’s constitution.
Additionally, sources at GECOM have clarified that Guyana does not have a law to prevent persons from saying things on social media, hence the comments made by Bond are not arbitrary to any elections law.
