What experience? The one he gained from the views he enjoyed of the Guyanese forest looking out of the window of the jets he boarded on one of his many monthly trips abroad?

Why the hell do you not go and study Namibia's before you speak of this farce that is going no where. There they did not say they will save the forest and the environment if they are given a hand out. They decided it was a fundamental necessity. The iconizing that environmental fraud called jagdeo as an uber environmentalist is a travesty. Guyana has no mining standards, no development of robust sewer systems, no emission standards no dumping and recycling standards and it does not hold preservation of the forest as a first principle,

The real conman was Fat Boy who destroyed the country, caused the nation's mass exodus, and he was unmasked internationally. Are you still at a loss?

The best protector of the forest are the people who live in the forest. And for this reason the Jagdeo gov't decided to empower the Amerindians by giving them title over thousands of acres. Norway, a civilized nation and a leader in the use of Green technology has been so impressed that they have pledged hundreds of millions to Guyana as incentive to continue the preservation of our virgin forest.

Quit talking crap. The pre independence agreement affords Amerinds title to their lands. It assures than all agreements signed with the crown will be valid after the founding of an independent state.

Amerinds are in no greater position than any in preserving the environment either in light of what lies in its subsurface. Modern ways of capitalizing on other facets opened up in preserving the forest must be developed and that takes a holistic national philosophy as in Namibia.

Norway cannot bootstrap green technology in Guyana. The money will come and go and we will be in the same place if the present trend continues.

Have faith my brother. The Hope Canal is under construction with funds from Norway. Our Amerindian brothers and sisters are more involved in the broader Guyanese society than ever before. Our president has some Amerindian blood. Very soon we will have a full-blood Amerindian Prime Minister or President. Time is due.

I am talking about comprehensive approach to environmentalism not this half hearten attempt at creating an international face with nothing behind it. Why are there no garbage collection in the villages, no attempts to curtail plastics, no sincere mining regulations to stop the destructive blasting of out topsoil and polluting of the streams no immediate ban on heavy metals, arsenic etc, no emission standards, no Prohibition on harvesting of rare or endangered lumber species and no moratorium on leasing the land for lumber extraction, no control of road building by lumber companies and an endless list of deficits too plentiful to count. Every government in Guyana has set out to screw Amerinds.
