Jetblue's VP of Network Planning will be at the Florida Conference on Caribbean Issues on Sept.10 as will be Guyana's VP and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Carl Greenidge. A bilateral on the sidelines on the possible introduction of Jetblue service to Guyana is almost certain.

JB has started service to more Caribbean destinations. GEO needs a longer runway, and when that is accomplished then JB might start service. APNU/AFC is moving ahead with the runway.

Carl Greenidge and Jetblue's Vice President of Network Planning David Clarke will meet on Thursday, September 10, 2015 in Florida on the sidelines of the Current Caribbean Issues: The Diaspora Discussion Conference. The two will discuss the possible introduction of Jetblue Service to Guyana. Jetblue has an interest in the Guyana market and will be discussing this further with VP Greenidge.
The Airbus A321 can meet Guyana from JFK. A320 is a stretch and I would not fly with an A320 from JFK to Guyana. I hope they also plan to use their mini hub in Ft Lauderdale. This will be a major success for the new govt, BTW.

Is there enough of a market to justify a daily FLL GEO route?
Guyana is purely VFR (friends and relatives) and that gets very seasonal.
These airlines ask for route support (either subsidy, revenue guarantee, or marketing support). I wonder of Guyana is sophisticated enough to ask for this, especially of they are discussing the more speculative route out of Fort Lauderdale.
NYC is a strong route for Guyana. Dynamic will simply disappear.
