Wayne Jones grabbed four wickets and Hardat Hernandan hit an unbeaten 46 as Wellman defeated Parika Defenders by nine wickets when the Mike’s Pharmacy, Trophy Stall and Nauth Motor Spares softball tournament continued on Sunday at Bourda. Parika Defenders batted first and were bowled out for 69 in 18 overs. D. Singh made 18 as Jones finished with 4-8 and Sheldon Perch 2-14. Wellman responded with 75-1. Hernandan hit two fours and four sixes, while Latchman Kallicharran made 23. Wellman overcame Floodlight by seven wickets. Batting first, Floodlight made 89-6 with Anil Beharry scoring 40 and R. Singh 15. Kallicharran claimed 3-17 and Mike Singh 1-12. Wellman made 90-3 in 17 overs in reply. Raymond Harper struck 39, while Jagdesh Persaud got 33. In the female category, Mike’s Wellwoman beat Blue Divas by nine wickets. Blue Divas took first strike and managed 61-6 in 12 overs. Akeema McKenzie made 13 and Lisa Gilkes 12; Zola Telford had two wickets. Mike’s Wellwoman responded with 62-1 in eight overs. Joan Vansertima hit 31 not out and Haseena Mohamed 19. Trophy Stall Angels defeated 4R Lioness by 44 runs. Batting first, Trophy Stall Angels scored 125 without loss. June Ogle struck 76, while Alicia Allen got 46. 4R Lioness made 84-7 in 15 overs in reply. Sheneeza Abrams got 15; Jenelle Nero had 2-15.
