Judge, husband assaulted in home invasion, four men held

By  , July 9, 2015, Source

At about 0120h. today, police say that four men armed with  firearms broke into the home of Land Court judge Nicola Pierre, 43 years, at Felicity, ECD, after overpowering and tying up the Special Constable on duty.

The perpetrators held up Pierre and her husband Mohamed Chand and son, during which she and her husband were assaulted. The bandits took away a portable safe with money and jewellery and a suitcase with articles.

As the perpetrators were leaving the premises they were confronted by an armed security guard at a neighbouring residence, and there was an exchange of gunfire during which the perpetrators dropped the safe and suitcase and escaped.

The police responded to the report and investigations have led to the arrest of four men, who are in custody assisting with the investigations.

The two victims have been admitted to a private hospital.

Felicity is considered one of the safest places on the East Coast of Demerara.  Medecci's security is always active in the area.  Dr. Rudyard Insanhally lives there. Glenn Lall and Moses Nagamootoo dropped me off at Felicity at 4 0'clock in the morning the last time was in Guyana. If bandits can hit this area then no place is safe in Guyana.
