Should members of Parliament be required to sign a sworn affidavit declaring they have not received any form of compensation from special interest group before voting on a bill? What should be the penalty?

Who will police this and keep them honest? They can sign all kinds of paper but this does not guarantee that they will stick to a promise.

Committees don't achieve anything.
Jagdeo had set up a committee with the PNC once and it didn't work.

I can't remember but they ended up haggling too much. Not sure about how many parliamentarians were involved and if they had to swear to any disclosures.
