He is Kulie bai. WI cricket has a history of unfair treatment of Indo Caribbean cricketers.
I am writing the Queen this week. I already sent a message via Facebook this morning to the Antiguan Prime Minister asking for Kanhai's knighthood. I got a reply a few minutes later saying the Prime Minister will be in contact with me.
O rass bai, you have connections.
No connections but this issue is dear to my heart. The man should be knighted before he dies.
Why should he be Knighted?
Thatâs a valid question. Never thought of it long and hard. Lloyd did make a tremendous contribution. What did Kanhai contribute to warrant a Sir title ?
Ray and Sean have to be young men. Rohan Kanhai was one of the most brilliant batsmen and coaches West Indies ever produce. The man played shots never seen in cricket before and since then. He was a brilliant coach for Jamaica. He was also a brilliant county cricketer. Pubs are named after the man in England.
The way I read the title, I thought the man was scheduled to be knighted. Didn't realize was one of Prashad's fantasies as usual.
I intend to work hard on this issue to ensure that it is not a fantasy.
But on a serious note, he ought to be given knighthood. He was a prominent W.I player back in the day. Used to see my older brother and friends surrounding a lil radio waiting to hear when Rohan Babulall Khanai nack a six.
Did Kalicharran get knighted?
Rohan Kanhai was a brilliant batsman but he was never consistent.

Many Jamaican young men named Rohan, even my neighbour named after Rohan Kanhai. I remember when he played at Bourda, when he got out one third the stands would leave, they were Berbicians.
Many other cricketeers contributed far less ,but was knighted.

If Garfield Sobers and Frank Worrell were knighted, Kanhai should be also.
