Very sad. My son is devastated. 

His parents wanted him to marry a black woman instead he married a Mexican. He had not spoken to his parents in many years. Hopefully his family heals with his early passing.

Corona virus and now this. 🙁 Bought a few medical masks for days I have to go to NYC for meetings. You never know who just came back from Wuhan China.

This is such a devastating loss.  One of his daughters perished on the helicopter along with him.

Out of line. I am telling you what the man had to put up with. But the man walked to the beat of his own drum. And that is what life is all about. The man was his own man. It is very unfortunate and sad that he and his daughter  passed so young. It makes all of us see how precious and unpredictable life is. So love all your love ones regardless of the circumstances because life is like test cricket it is filled with glorious uncertainties.

I am looking and listening to CBS2 California and they just said they cannot confirm but a reporter on the ground heard it from people.

update

Looks like total engine failure in a hilly area with heavy fog. Probably the hilly area was cold also so it also affected the engine.

I hope and pray CNN is wrong!!

I have a Chinese Inventor that I create his designs. The other day he came to follow up on one project, I kept moving away from him as he was talking. Nice fella. I felt bad about it. You never know who he has been associating with before the world knew about the virus. 

This feels like when JFK son died in the plane crash. Every one was sad.

Its confirmed his daughter was also killed in the crash. 

This was Kobe last tweet last night to Lebron James - after James pass Kobe score as a Lakers. 

Kobe last appearance with his daughter in training  last week .

RIP Manba.

Coach, wife and 13 year old daughter also perish

COSTA MESA, Calif. -- John Altobelli, a highly successful baseball coach at Orange Coast College, was among the victims of the helicopter crash that killed NBA legend Kobe Bryant on Sunday morning. Altobelli died alongside his wife, Keri, and his 13-year-old daughter, Alyssa, the family confirmed to ESPN.

The three were traveling with Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, to a youth basketball game when the helicopter crashed in Calabasas, California. Alyssa and Gianna, who is also 13, were teammates. Altobelli, 56, coached at OCC for 27 years, leading the Pirates to four state titles and more than 700 wins.

"He kind of gets overshadowed by Kobe a little bit," OCC associate baseball coach Nate Johnson said, "but he was his own Kobe of the junior college baseball world."

Looks like the helicopter was a charter. It used to be owned by the state for transport of the governor but was sold at auction because budget crisis. 

What do we know about Kobe Bryant's helicopter? 

The Sikorsky S-76B, which is made by Lockheed Martin, can carry up to 12 passengers and has a top speed of 178mph. 

It reportedly costs $13m (about £10m).

On the company website it is billed as an aircraft specialising in search and rescue and VIP and executive transportation. 

Sikorsky models are used by Donald Trump and nine other global heads of state. 

His specific helicopter — registration N72EX — was built in 1991. 

A report said: "Given his broken finger, his fragile knees, his sore back and achy feet, not to mention his chronic agita, Bryant can't sit in a car for two hours.

"The helicopter, therefore, ensures that he gets to Staples Center feeling fresh, that his body is warm and loose and fluid as mercury when he steps onto the court."
