Chairman of the Alliance for Change (AFC), Nigel Hughes, was appointed as the ‘Secretary’ of the Amaila Falls Hydro Inc., the Special Purpose Vehicle/Company created for the development, construction and operation of the US$858M Hydro Power plant.
Executive Member of the AFC, Cathy Hughes, the wife of Nigel Hughes, as recent as yesterday issued a press statement in which she was identified as the Public Relations Officer for Sithe Global, locally.
Party Leader Khemraj Ramjattan, when contacted said that he was aware that Hughes has an association with the company but said he did not know that he was Company Secretary.

If your argument is that being displeased with the corrupt PPP is opportunism then the entire lot of the PPP are there for hating on Burnham. You cannot have it both ways. Dear Editor,

Perception is everything in politics. Mrs Cathy Hughes being on the payroll of Sithe Global and making decisions in the AFC on Sithe does not seem right.  I as an ordinary person have forgiven Mr Nigel Hughes since he did the honourable thing and resigned from one of the entities he has been involved in, and even issued a public apology.

However, none of this was forthcoming from Mrs Cathy Hughes and it has been a month now.  Is she above public scrutiny?

There is no irony to opposing the PPP. they are crooks. You and they have more than your share of shit coming your way if you feel you shit spewing is a good line of attack.

Being on the payroll of sith global is no crime any place. Ramotar squatted on OMAI board and he is deemed a worthy candidate for the presidency by your party elders.

The reason there is no firewall between officials of state and their private interest is one of the PPP failings. They had 22 years to make sure it does not happen.

There is also the matter of electoral financial transparency. The PPP has not set up any system where there can be full disclosure and where citizens finance the campaigns of parties and not big money buying access to government office.

We do not know where the monies going into these campaigns are coming from. The Chinese and the PPP cronies can be laying millions on the table with a quid pro quo for later benefits but what is there to stop it?

Complaining about the Hughes is hallow politicking. It is simply the PPP pretending the rest of the world is ignorant. They have failed us that the Hughes can be working for personal interests while being in office. Pointing fingers at them for what is common practice in the PPP is a waste of time.

Nagamotto was working for the state. Are you telling us that NICIL is in the practice of giving away money....actually the do so you have to come straight out and say this was a kick back ( thereby implicating yourselves a party to fraud)  or you have no where to go with it.
