He charmed and captivated many around the world, including Guyanese. He's immortal and will never be forgotten. I met him in 1985 at Baruch College, NY when I was a student; our West Indian group arranged a Diwali show and invited he and Shakira Caine as Guests of Honor; Shakira declined but he was there and charmed everyone; I still have the pictures.

Like many folks of my 1960s-70s movie-going years, I enjoyed watching Shashi. His first movie that I watched in Roxy cinema at Leonora was "Pyar Kiye Jaa". It was 1967 and I was attending high school.
Shashi lived to a good old age. Time for his soul to migrate onward to another life.
