There is a lesson to be learned from 2011 election when the PPP lose the majority in parliament by one seat. This is the reason Guyanese are going back to the poll on May 11, and it's the same reason that gave us three years of gridlock between the ruling PPP party and the joint opposition.
I said on Riff's thread yesterday that AFC made a bold move by joining forces with APNU to unseat the PPP, but not necessarily a good move. AFC cannot deliver 11% of the vote to APNU on a silver platter if the voters don't have confidence in APNU or refuse to vote for the coalition. With that said, I wish them well.
If the PPP must win back the majority, they have to campaign effectively on their record and concentrate on major issues that concerns the people. Crime is number one priority and must be dealt with seriously. I know everyone holds Guyana's best interest at heart, and I wish all the political players the best of luck.
