Let's take pause.
Over the past months I have seen many persons here on social media cower behind the veil of hate and fake profiles and attack others because of their race. It has been going both ways and It is sad for us as a nation.
But today, some hope was restored that we really are a caring people above it all.
A young lady of Indo-Guyanese descent leaped off of the Demerara Harbour Bridge in a suicide attempt.
A young Afro Guyanese man and a young Indo-Guyanese man saw what happened and simply let the human spirit take charge and jumped into the river and managed to save her life.
In that moment, at that time, race was not an issue. It should never be.
Some problems still exist, but let's take pause and never allow ourselves to let others decide who we are and who we could be.
Today and Forever, we are first Guyanese.
