Chief Elections Officer Keith Lowenfield is expected to appear at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Friday, July 24 to face three private criminal charges after he was officially served on Thursday.
Lowenfield has been evading the authorities since the charges were filed on June 30 by People’s Progressive Party (PPP) member Desmond Morian and Member of The New Movement, Daniel Josh Kanhai.
He was initially slated to appear in court on July 3 but did not show up after the court’s bailiff was unable to serve the documents on him; as such Magistrate Faith McGusty instructed the authorities to ensure Lowenfield is served before his next court appearance on July 24.
“It is in high spirits that I, Daniel Josh Kanhai, Desmond Morian and Attorney at Law, Glenn Hanoman, Mark Conway et al announce that Mr Keith Lowenfield, the Chief Election Officer of GECOM, has been official served as of July 23rd, 2020.
“Mr Lowenfield has been evading the summons but fortunately, after careful planning and strategy, he was served at GECOM Secretariat’s office. Mr Lowenfield will be expected to be present in Court tomorrow morning, July 24th, 2020, at 9:00hrs to face the private criminal charges brought before him,” a joint statement noted Thursday.
Lowenfield is facing charges relating to fraud, misconduct in office and breach of the public’s trust by providing results of the March 2 elections which he knows to be false.
In court documents seen by the News Room, it is alleged that between March 5, 2020, and June 23, 2020, Lowenfield conspired with person (s) unknown to commit a common law Fraud, “to wit, by presenting to the Guyana Elections Commission, the tables attached to his Elections Report dated 14th day of March 2020, accurately reflected the true results of the said election, in order to materially alter the results of the said election, with intent to defraud, knowing the tabulation to be false.”
“The Accused between 5th March 2020 and 29th June 2020 while performing his duty as the Chief Elections Officer of the Guyana Elections Commission, without lawful excuse or justification, willfully misconducted himself at Georgetown…a place within the Georgetown Magisterial District by ascertaining results of the 2nd March 2020, General and Regional Elections for Guyana knowing the said results to be false, the said willful misconduct amounting to a breach of the public’s trust in the Office of the Chief Elections Officer of the Guyana Elections Commission,” the court document stated.
Lowenfield came under scrutiny for preparing his elections report on March 5 which shows a victory for the incumbent APNU+AFC Coalition based on fraudulent and inflated figures provided by Clairmont Mingo, the Returning Officer for Guyana’s largest voting district- Region 4.
The national recount proved that Mingo inflated votes in favour of the Coalition and it was the PPP that actually won the March 2 elections by over 15,000 votes.
The PPP has maintained that Lowenfield knew the true winner the elections since he would have in his possession GECOM’s Statements of Poll (SOPs).
As a result of Mingo’s fraud, GECOM embarked on the national vote recount following which Lowenfield in his summary provided a table which revealed the totals for the ten electoral districts which were signed off by GECOM’s own staff as being valid; when added up, Lowenfield’s report shows the PPP winning the elections by 15, 416 votes.
Lowenfield has committed treason.

Bai, wuh wrang wid yuh. Lowenfield is an expert at not showing up. Look at his track record. It would be nothing short of a miracle if he does this tine around. And who putting he in jail is the big question.
The 19 charges against Ali are all still outstanding. Did Ali show striving the last time?

Mits, by now it's widely known that the charges against Dr Irfaan Ali were politically motivated. He was not charged for misappropriation of public funds for personal gain. He was charged with approving the sale of State land in so-called Pradoville2 to 19 persons below market value. Each houselot carried a separate charge. Up to now the Coalition cannot determine market value at the time of sale. That's why no trial date is set.

I used to hear on the radio back in the days, "It's not what you do, but how you do it that matters." The 19 are friends and families of the PPP/C.

The land was sold!! not stolen or gifted.
After the NCV the PNC government were in an illegal position to sign any contract, yet they were busy giving State lands to their Friends and families, eg: land at Wales, Linden, East Coast, Providence and more. Transactions were even completed after March 2nd 2020, That is fraud. but don't worry, the PPP will soon march them ass to jail. We know who they are!

Voting is mostly binary. One should be comfortable that they are supporting the better option. Politicians have always been tainted so it is futile doing nothing and waiting for the person with the qualities of Jesus to come along. Voters chose Granger in 2015 thinking he was religious as well as fit and proper but less than a year later realized that he possess none of those qualities. Between his behavior immediately following the 2015 elections and then after the NCM and GRE he has catapulted to the top of the list of depraved Guyanese. He even managed to outdo his idol Burnham.

Yes. The allegations against him regarding Pradoville2 have not been proven in court.
Sleazeballs? Look at the large amounts of state lands NICIL has doled out to PNC friends after the CCJ ruled that the no-confidence was valid and rendered APNU+AFC caretaker status. Granger said his caretaker government won't enter into agreements pending GECOM declaration of elections results. The Coalition has sleazeballs.

I blame the Coalition for not being able to prove their case against Ali. Their incompetence not only allowed him to remain free but it also allowed him to beat their leader Granger at the March elections. Now Granger is going to be out and Ali will be in. In the State House, not the big house.
Lolo can make a deal with the prosecutor to reveal the names of his co-conspirators if the judge does not send him to jail. This is bigger than Lolo's fraud. It goes right up to the President. Lolo might be coerced to commit fraud.

At this point one does not need Lowenfield to certify that Granger is the mastermind. Everyone is already at that conclusion.

They are all part of the same rigging cabal. Notice how all the respondents in the Moore, David and Jones cases ended up agreeing that Moore, David and Jones were right to sue them? Thankfully the court allowed real respondents to join the proceedings or the rigging Coalition cabal would have had their fraudulent ways since before the recount begun.

That's because he was practicing avoidance by being absent and incurring postponements. The 19 charges are still pending.
