High cost overruns, delays and poor quality construction work are the result of few qualified and competent engineers and other personnel in the construction sector due to declining interest in Mathematics and Sciences, a senior official of the Ministry of Public Works said Thursday.

You either send them back to school or give the construction jobs to the Chinese. I witness an American was teaching some Guyanese road construction workers how to paint a road marking of a straight line. That was so efed up to watch. Guyanese are not ready for technical jobs. Their brains are eaten up with Demerara rum.
