Panelists include; Dr Ashni Singh, Winston Brassington, Dr Roger Luncheon, Glen Lall, Moses Nagamootoo, Khemraj Ramjattan & Christopher Ram. Information coming to hand indicates that there will be a simultaneous relayed broadcast on several other TV stations across the country. Updates to follow........

Replies sorted oldest to newest

Let the debate begin.

RUMjattan will be crushed. He cannot hide now and they should also ask for an update on the AFC corruption investigation within their own party.

Moses should also be asked about his child abuse actions and his anger management issues.

This is that way forward to smash the snake oil salesmen.

Is it possible to see it via the internet in North America ?

Opposition mum on live tv debate on corruption

Debaters

The opposition political parties are tight-lipped on whether or not they have accepted an invitation from the government to participate in a televised debate on charges of corruption made by the AFC at the National Industrial and Commercial Investment Limited (NICIL)

INews Guyana learnt that the government through its spokesman Dr Roger Luncheon issued an invitation to several opposition activists for the debate slated for 7:30PM Tuesday evening on state TV- The National Communications Network (NCN).

According to the official, invitations were sent to AFC Chairman Khemraj Ramjattan, Moses Nagamootoo, accountant Christopher Ram and businessman Glen Lall of the Kaieteur Newspaper.

The government will be represented by Finance Minister Dr Ashni Singh, NICIL’s CEO Winston Brassington and Prime Minister Samuel Hinds according to the source.

The debate according to the official, will examine the corruption allegations made by the opposition, particularly Ramjattan and Nagamootoo regarding the financial affairs at the state-run holdings, which were carried daily in the Kaieteur Newspaper.

Brassington last week Ramjattan and Nagamootoo to a televised debate on the allegations they have made against him and NICIL.

However it is still unclear if Nagamootoo, Ram, Ramjattan or Lall confirmed participation in the debate.

Why in the world would one participate in a charade that muddies the water and put on the backseat a primary obligation for Brassington and the PPP crooks on the board of NICIL to submit the required accounting to parliament? As there is no debating with a sales person who does not submit the daily sales receipt there is no debating with these people who are custodians of the nations assets. Show us the money!

This is extremely funny.

What is funny is the PPP and the board members of NICIL believe there is another way out of this than the one they inevitably must face. We see the goods going through the door, we know its worth. If there is no money in the till the necessity is not to debate where it is gone because there is only too options. Either they give it away or stole it.

As noted above, no one in their right mind would entertain a debate with a sales person who cannot account for the stores daily receipts or merchandise. One knows beyond doubt  the individual did something shady.

You are a dog chasing its tail!

Baseman,

The AFC is making all sorts of wild claims. Typical snake oil. They are now in hiding because they have no smoking gun.

Now Now, please do not defend the AFC. AFC members were the ones calling for a debate.

The AG will submit his report. Now toilet paper KN claims that they got their information from AFC politicians who are in hiding because they were trying fool the public.

Shame on the AFC.

Shame on the AFC.

I dont agree, this is a public company and as such info should be open to the public.  They are not requesting PPP's political donors' list.  I am not defending the AFC, I am simply asking why can't such info be made public as is required.  Why the pulling of teeth.
