Whoever these guys were they may have had training from someone who had at least an intermediate para military or military level tactical knowledge. It was easy to see that they advanced in the village using precise weapon fire to maintain effectiveness of movement and unit control.
An amateur without knowledge would not know how to do that.

Utter nonsense, mobs need no special training to kill unarmed civilians. If they were up against other militants then I would agree with your. Remember the marauding mobs in Rawanda didn't need military training, as the unarmed victims put up little or no resistance.

BGurd, your example is not very good. The Hutu military in Rwanda was always physically present behind the marauding mobs. They acted as a backup with bullets. That is why the marauding Hutu mobs with cutlass in hand were able to do so much damage. Because the Tutsi victims had a choice of either facing the Hutu cutlass or a Hutu bullet from a trained Hutu soldier.
How would you explain then the situation where some members of the gang knew how to fire at an angle to give cover so that other members of the gang can move foward from their hidden positions?
