Today marks the 145th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It's a national holiday in India, Gandhi's birthplace.

We know him famously as India's preeminent freedom fighter and an apostle of non-violence.

Today I'm remembering him for his humility and incorruptibleness. His satyagraha movement attracted millions of rupees, but Gandhi never used that money for personal gain. He never built or bought a mansion. When he died his personal assets were worth a pittance.

It would be so nice if politicians of today could emulate Gandhi's example. Many are they who lavish praise on his memory but don't practice his exemplary teachings.

Bapu wil forever remain an embodiment of humility and non violent political activism.

Politicians of today can learn a lot from Bapu.

We do not expect them to live in mud houses and ride bicycles but a tad of what Bapu taught all of us can be applied to their daily lives. Many of them want to live a life of extreme luxury while the poor suffer.

Jai Hind.

On hearing of the death of the Mahatma Mr Jinnah said that regardless of their political differences he always regarded Mr. Gandhi as one of the greatest people ever produced by the Hindu community.

Bapu was one of the greatest men that ever lived.  It is a true pity that the people who murdered him now rule India.

Jinnah stabbed Gandhi in the back similar to Burnham stabbing Dr. Jagan in the back.

Bapu said,

Quote:

"When doubts haunt me, when disappointments stare me in the face, and I see not one ray of hope on the horizon, I turn to Bhagavad Gita and find a verse to comfort me: and I immediately begin to smile in the midst of overwhelming sorrow. Those who meditate on the Gita will derive fresh joy and new meanings from it every day"

End of Quote.

Jinnah was the protÃĐgÃĐe of one of India's greatest independence leaders Gopal Krishna Gokhale.  Gokhale was Jinnah's role model.  He was in the fight for Indian Independence and a member of the Indian National Congress in 1904 long before the Mahatma showed up.

I believe he was Untouchable raised by a Rani. He was responsible for writing the Constitution of India.

All scared texts inspire mankind. All from the same source-bcz they read the same in the muslim book, the hindu books, the buddist books, the torah, the Bible. Righteous thoughts are the exact same-God gave a heart of discernment. And no so-called preacher man , moulvi or pandit can change that.

Siggy, Gokhale died in 1915, i.e., 32 years before India's Independence.

Here he is:

The main writer of the Constitution of India was Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar of the Mahar caste, treated as untouchables and socio-economic discrimination in India. Dr Ambedkar died in 1956 at age 65. Here he is:

You are grossly ignorant about India. Your statement is like saying that Africa is full of savages, Ebola, Aids and starvation.

It is so wrong to make bold and inaccurate statements.
