Mayor questions Jagdeo’s visit to Linden

Mayor of Linden, Carwyn Holland, has criticised Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo’s recent visit to Linden, describing it as an attempt to either incite conflict or appear benevolent.

During a press conference on Tuesday, at the Linden Town Council, Mayor Holland said Jagdeo’s visit on the eve of the fact-finding Mission of the United Nations Working Group of Experts on People of African descent was rife with mischief, but will not deceive Lindeners.

“To come to Linden on the eve of the UN Team’s visit exposes once again the PPP’s intentions, the people of Linden were wise enough not to fall for the bait but instead respected the rights of his few sympathizers to greet him. The people of Linden cannot be duped by what can only be perceived as a farce since the previous administration engaged in a concerted effort to marginalise the people of this town,” Holland contended.

The Mayor highlighted the town’s 23-year struggle and the failed promises under the former administration. These include infrastructure “which was left to decay – a school system which suffered a direct political assault, and a neglected healthcare system and the road linking Linden to Ituni and Kwakwani. We are on a move to forge a green economy and with it mobilise green farms, create jobs and care for the most vulnerable in our town,” Mayor Holland outlined.

He also spoke of the brain drain of township and the non-involvement of the previous administration with stakeholders to address bauxite issues resulting in the “dreadful” treatment of workers by management of the bauxite company.

The Linden Mayor added that the effects from the struggles are visible and much has to be undertaken to restore the town. However, Lindeners are optimistic that under this administration, there will be progress towards greater socioeconomic posterity.

The Mayor noted that Linden is now one of the top performing towns and will continue to thrive.

Perhaps, the mayor of Linden wants to approve the date and when a person should visit the place.

Look at how dem still love Jagdeo.  Granger on the other hand is locked in his office, scratching his head and trying to figure out on how to govern.

The mayor does not want Jadgdeo from exposing the PNC lies, the suffering and economic hardship currently being endured by the people of Linden.

Does the Mayor think that Jagdeo needs a Visa to visit Linden ?

but i found nowhere it being suggested or implied that Jagdeo needed "permission" or hadn't the right to visit anywhere in Guyana

Nothing should prevent his  from visiting but then Lindeners have a right to let Jagdeo know that they will not allow him to use them for a PR stunt.

Jagdeo runs his "coolie people party", screams that his support base are rural Indians, boasts that he didn't have the time to campaign in black majority areas in the LGE.  He wants to fool himself that the PPP has broad based support.

Just by looking at the picture you derived that the PPP has nothing intelligent to say to Blacks?  You are so racist that you just can't help yourself.  Linden has always had a soft spot for Jagdeo, remember these are the same people that proclaimed him the father of the nation.

Former President Bharrat Jagdeo yesterday shunned reports that suggested he made racist remarks.

He said that those reports could not have been further away from the truth as he, being a “son of the soil,” is an advocate for a united Guyana.
This newspaper carried a story on Tuesday with the headline “Rohee endorses Jagdeo’s statement that PPP is a ‘coolie people’ party.”  The article quoted PPP General Secretary Clement Rohee as saying that the PPP garners most of its support from Indo Guyanese.
Both Jagdeo and Rohee registered disapproval with the article yesterday. Rohee did so through a press release and Jagdeo, at a press conference he held at Freedom House, Robb Street Georgetown.
At the forum, Jagdeo admitted that he indeed made reference to “coolie people” on Sunday as he spoke at the memorial service his Party hosted at Babu John in honour of its founding member, the late Dr. Cheddi Jagan. Jagdeo said however, that his statements were twisted as well as misinterpreted.
The former President said that he was merely telling the “PPP crowd” that the opposition refers to the PPP as “coolie people they need to get out of office”.

That my dear sir came after Rohee already confirmed that Jagdeo was correct to call the PPP a "coolie people party".  He then reinforced this by his screams about who supports the PPP (rural Indians) and that he plans to take back Guyana for THEM!  All of this thanks to Mr. Ramkarran!

Now I note that you cannot tell us why the PPP can only see blacks as propr.  Wining on black women, hugging black women, or kissing black women.

Now please tell us what plans did Jagdeo have to turn Linden into a vital economic engine? It has the cheapest electricity, is well located between the coast and the interior and even in 2012 still had the densest cluster of skilled Guyanese, thanks to the industrial nature of the bauxite industry which left a legacy of trained people.

And Mr. Rohee's daughter posted nastiness on her FB page about black people lacking class, and was adamant about that.  And she didn't see those comments as being racist either.

Did Rohee apologize for his daughter? No!  At that time he and the rest of the PPP were too busy fomenting anti black hatreds among Indians to scare them out to vote.

The Jagdeo/Ramotar cabal have never shown that they respect blacks as equals.  Just bodies to wine on or to hug and kiss. Simple stupid people.

Jagdeo, who is known to speak rashly at this yearly forum, told thousands who gathered at the event that the “opposition” whispers to its supporters, “Let us throw out the coolie people.”
Jagdeo added that the opposition “consistently shouts about the racism of the PPP but they practice racism.

All those violent attacks on Indians in Guyana by blacks supporting the PNC are not evidence of the party's racism?  Do they have to exterminate the entire population for us to bring a valid case of racism against the PNC? This guy Carib is a black nationalist who see the Indians of Guyana as the old White masters who suppressed the Africans for centuries. Interesting how you labeled me a racist because I pointed out that Indians make better use of what they get than blacks do yet you don't accuse me of hating Islam and Muslims when I criticize the actions of many Muslims around the world. Why don't you address the fact that Jagdeo never has anything intelligent to say about what his plans for Linden are.  He sold Guymine and 80% of its employees lost their jobs,  This did great damage to Linden.  

Why will Lindeners love him when that is his legacy.

I always posted what Ramkarran had to say about Jagdeo and here he is ranting that "we know who the PPP supporters are" and then threatening to take back Guyana for them.

As of now the only factor that APNU has to get their supporters out in 2020 will be Jagdeo.  The man just is unable to embrace a message that reassures non Indians that he can be inclusive.  He has turned the PPP into ROARII in his rage against Afro Guyanese.

If you think I lie just analyze the 2015 votes and show me how much support that Jagdeo has outside of Indian or Amerindian areas.
