Jan 23, 2020
Press Release

Georgetown, Guyana – Today, Congressman Albio Sires (D-NJ), Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, Civilian Security, and Trade, released the following statement after leading a congressional delegation to Guyana with Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY) and Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-NY):

“At this critical moment for Guyana, my colleagues and I visited the country to convey our support for free, fair, and fully democratic elections on March 2, 2020. As we expressed to President Granger, opposition leader Bharrat Jagdeo, election commission members, and other stakeholders, the United States government plans to work closely with the people and government of Guyana, regardless of who wins the March election. Guyana has the potential for a very bright future and, as Chairman of the Western Hemisphere Subcommittee, I will work to deepen relations between our two countries and to support the aspirations of the people of Guyana.”

Looks like Hakeem Jeffries friends are disowning him.  These guys are not going to  support electoral fraud.

How does supporting a recount mean disowning Jeffries?  And, how does condemnation of American interference equate with electoral fraud?  Some reasoning!

jeffries only got involved because he is responding to a request from members of his Brooklyn constituency, not as a matter of principle. Rickford Burke, a member of his constituency, both friends, and who both are members of the same church, played a major role in getting jeffries to condemn the Ramotar prroguement (not sure it spelt correctly), and now the condemnation that the PPP rigged the election. Its a hypocritical statement when measured against the previous one, and some may argue that the motive may be a racial one too.
