In high school back around 1979 or 1980 the tech class had a experiment to do that needed oscilloscopes. I think they were learning how lissajous patterns are created. They made teams to use in limited number of oscilloscopes and I remember that one of the model of the oscilloscope was the Tektonix type 503. I didn't get a chance to use one of the Tektronix Scopes and I felt rejected from them because I didn't form a team to do the experiments. They ignored me like people ignore me today. I think that they don't make eye contact with me because they don't want Lucifer to be identified between us-like he's their brother. I believe that was a tube type scope because it was pretty big. I remember there were small B&K solid state Scopes at the work stations and I think I used that for the experiment to create the lissajous pattern. Another reason I mentioned Tektonix is because Ron is in the name Tektronix, which makes me feel proud because I admire the company-representing a potential I never met. I should have worked at Radio Shack and saved up money to buy an oscilloscope because they were very expensive, around $1,000, and I could have learned more about electronics like how to align an AM or FM tuner.

Ron, thanks for sharing your high school lab experiences. The 503 scope was easy to repair, due to its simple circuits and open inside spaces.  I first studied vacuum tube electronics, before becoming a ship's wireless radio operator, using Morse Code. Afterwards, for decades  I managed an electronic test equipment repair and calibration lab with solid state test equipment, used by the phone company.

I also collect tube type test equipment similar to the Tektronix 503 scope, a B&K Sweep/Function Generator, Motorola RF Generator, Wandell and Goltermann  Spectrum Analyzer and some HP equipment. British AVO and American Triplett 630-PLK analog multimeters. Including some equipment used in the Dam Busters movie.

In 2015, when our town buried a 100 year time capsule, I included a new black rotary telephone, the first cell phone made by Motorola, some vacuum tubes, currency and family photos.  I also included letters describing these items, including a letter regarding courtesy in our town to see how much courtesy might change in the year 2115, when the capsule is opened.

One letter described my experience with vacuum tube equipment to present day solid state equipment.  Written on the day in 2015, when  the New Horizon space craft was first sending photographs from Pluto. A huge contrast and growth of electronic equipment, from vacuum tubes to solid state.

Ron, why do you think people ignore you ? You write your opinion, just like anyone else here. You have just as much right to post here, but not every post have a reply. People  reply to post that has their interest and yours interest me in electronics. Because the 503 scope is one of my favourites.

Bhai, be extremely careful with a large supply of face masks and hand sanitizers, because I believe  GY is not properly equipped to handle this virus.  It was not during a virus, but I often think of a poster from Vancouver who went to Guyana and was air ambulance back to the US after a stroke. He was later air ambulanced to Vancouver, where he did not recover in hospital, after a few years disabled in bed.

I hope that God doesn't use my understanding against me that I express, after all he causes all my suffering. Testing time causes him fear by contact of the flesh on matter as the mind senses or monitor that contact. By the way a couple of decades ago I did f*** myself and I'm sure that God caused that to make me feel worthless and now I'm getting back at him for all the damage he did to me and others. Duck plenty in NY. Lots of farms around. I've been to some in the jamaica queens area but sonehow, we may never know why a guyana duck seems more important.
