I guess Dookie got his own project going after being booted from the other fly by night oil company
From left are Jeff Simmons, Country Manager for ExxonMobil Guyana; Minister of Natural Resources, Raphael Trotman; Dr. Edris Dookie of Mid Atlantic Co. [Guyana) and Dr. Riyad Insanally, Country Representative of the Organisation of American States in Trinidad and Tobago (GINA photo)

on what basis was the Canje Block carved up by the Jagdeo criminals and gifted to these people?

this is serious, far-reaching shit . . . i hope serious people in the Gov't are paying attention

That dude was being paid almost 1 percent of the entire cash in hand of that company per year. These are get rich schemes. Those block licenses sell for a lot. CGX is almost completely sold to the Venezuelans after they dried its coffers. It is the leases that is the asset on which they raise capitol and those were apparently given away gratis by Jagdeo to Narine and this fellow. They have no capital to start so this is a milk cow.

Redux, you have no idea how these companies are formed, what work goes into it, what skills are required. Unlike other state assets these licenses are dispensed with great transparency, thought and good for the country.

Stormy, like base says your imagination is running wild.

You both need to research these enterprises before giving your mouths the reckless liberty and abandon that is evident.

I noticed the Canje Block license given out during the PPP Administration. Then "this is serious, far-reaching shit" may convey that such largess is being dispensed by this government in like manner.

It is the one industry that you can't hide and so I posit that neither Administrations are guilty of malfeasance over the awarding of licenses for potential petroleum fields.

Hey bai, you back from the Hajj.  Welcome.  I hope you have not become as disrespectful to women as Chief has!!

Actually I was in India doing the off-the-beaten track trek. Took in a lot of historic sites - the Jodah-Akbar fort, the Taj Majhal, the Hawa Mahal, Gandhi's Ashram, the spiritual town of Pushkar, the Sufi shrine in Ajmeer, the backwater houseboats of Kerala, etc. Lovely women in India. The people were great. The poverty experiences were stark.

from what u have posted here today, you likely find no corruption in the CGX sheananigans of the past decade+

let me explain something . . . this one has the potential of being even worse

you and the other PPP lite fellow travelers here would also likely found nothing corrupt in Jagdeo handing the Amaila Falls development rights to FIP Motilall

i quite suspect that the wannabe oil baron principals here are annoyed that the spotlight is turning slowly to this corrupt deal

so, since u know so much that i don't know  . . . and since "transparency" is the watch word; tell us:

(i) WHO are the principals in Mid Atlantic Oil & Gas?

(ii) WHEN was this company formed and registered in Guyana?

(iii) Why was there no bidding for this block just North of Stabroek, especially in 2014, when Exxon had committed to drill and all the majors and mid-majors (with the technology and money) knew the geological data was favorable

(iv) What exactly are the criteria for a company to acquire such a license, then,  from the GOG, especially to explore and drill in such deep water!? . . . the bloody thing has been flipped twice already!!

CGX wasn't even barefaced enough to challenge the intelligence of ordinary people on such a ridiculous level . . . they at least acquired acreage in shallow water where it was credible (enough) to raise money on the capital markets for them to drill a well or 2

please note that i am presently acquiring this information from very reliable sources . . . but since u know so much, there should be no need for me to call in favors, rite?

re your 2nd paragraph . . . i can take only so much sophomoric nonsense in one mouthful, and will ignore

You and I have this discussion about this very fellow on the initiation of CGX. It is not that they had money, or extraordinary skill set or any of the things that made this group acquire vast long term leases. It is who they know.

There is no research to back up their claim here. You already offered up that paltry non existent rational for there possessions of large leases beyond the obvious. This is ethnic nepotism plain and simple. I rest assured also that Jagdeo has his hand outstretched under the table.

I have argued with Kari extensively over the rationale for these leases but he could only croak about skill and knowledge etc as if these fellows alone are in possession of that and that alone are the prerequisite for extensive lease to vast oil reserves. I wish to see the details of the lease. The details are hidden behind two shell companies.

Edris Dookie is a school mate of Kari. He backs him on that basis and it has nothing to do with merit.

The only thing Redux et al is on to is your sense of gullibility.

baseman's credibility of who is corruptible is beyonf last rites.

Redux's use of sophomoric colloquialisms is not a sign of educated commentary but rather one of seeking attention.

Mars made the disingenuous leap from being from the same school and thus buddies in some supposed evil.

Stormy is Stormy - someone who has an axe to grind and refuse to see anomalies. For instance as bad as the3 PPP was they have done some good which he will forever disavow.

Dr. Dookie is a fellow QC Alumnus yes, but that does not make any comment of mine on his economic ventures blind. I asked the question if detractors understand what's involved in participating in the oil sector in Guyana - from licensing to infrastructure development, and in the case of CGX getting the favorable Law of the Sea ruling on the Sea border thus giving Guyana economic licenses on a potentially lucrative area. CGX ran into environmental hurdles just before Dr. Dookie left. Note that he has operated under both Administrations and worked with Guyanese of all political stripes.

If you're smart, "smart"comments like being onto "something" only make you a follower of the pack.

kari, more than a week on, u crawl back here whistling past the subject, babbling indignant about "colloquialisms" but with a bunch of NOTHING in response to 4 simple, direct questions of mine

u, Dookie and the rest of jagdeo's con men really believe y'all talking to a bunch of GT low-information rubes

i am forced to conclude that you actually know very little of this "business" or are a loathsome scampman

All of that to say nothing. I would like to hear of these supposed anomalies I missed. Actually, the idea that these fellows get control of that large area of our land with little or no money on hand ( depending to raise it on stocks) is the biggest anamoly. That they did it twice increments the anomalous two fold.

I study linguistics. Just took two advance course at the local Univ to fortify my understanding of the discipline. I see nothing beyond the stylistic ignoring of Blackboard grammar.

The reality is he is informationally dense, poignant in his imagery through use of the vernacular ( a linguistic advantage when creole is important to the recipient of the message), and quite poetic. I think he should put it in haiku verse.

We are dealing with abhorrent human behavior; the inclination to corruption and vile practice of crony capitalism that is the legacy of the PPP

Were the possibility to plant cassava in the Atlantic it would be a better use than give it away to these fellows. I hope the present administration looks to the returns promised and how.
