The people in that part of the world is rarely understood. It's easy for us to say they're are crazy, but that's the way they know live from birth. They may fight for freedom, but they don't understand the true meaning of freedom. The only way one can really understand the lifestyle in that region is to exchange places for a year.

actually...if they were smart, all that oil money would have been put to good use...education and development. Imagine all that energy they put into protesting, killing and just general nonsense over any slight against their religion...these people are nuts!

Muslim fella on CNN is an ass. The issue is poverty and income inequality. The rich are super wealthy, highly educated at Harvard, and control the economic wealth of the country. The rabble are unemployed, illiterate, and uneducated. They want a piece of the pie but are untrained or unprepared to manage the pie. CNN likes to profile these wastrels. They don't profile the educated.

If we educate them then they will know that we pay too little for their oil, and then they will decide to sell their oil to China instead. We cannot afford that...

Whatever is happening there, that quick response to violence on the perception of religious slights is completely and genetically a meme of that culture that is essentially fanatical interpretation of Koranic imperative.

If they feel, that they can on account of their faith force everyone to compliance to their norms why would "american influence" be impactful except as a kick off point to express what is latent to it?  Islam fails to censure itself, it fails as a guide to its moral principles with respect to a peaceful religion.

To this point it is all talk and no expression. It exists in the heart of its founding region as  a reprehensible backward expression of  hateful fanaticism and contrary that whatever is claimed to be good in the book. There is no getting around that.

Again, i is all about education. their kids learn to read in the Q'ram not in the "Petty Goat". Poverty is another issue, if they buy Q'ram they cannot afford school books.
