Militant groups fight each other in northern Syria

Syria foreign-backed militants clash with government forces in northeastern city of Deir Ezzor on July 1, 2013.

The Syrian army troops have made gains in battle against foreign-backed militants, while violent infighting took place among militant groups in northern Syria.

People in al-Dana town in Idlib Province said the infighting occurred between several militant groups, including the al-Qaeda-linked the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), on Friday.

Dozens of foreign-sponsored militants were killed, wounded or imprisoned in the incident.

Reports say that the beheaded bodies of one commander and his brother were also found in the town.

Militants from the ISIS group have been beating, executing and firing at locals who defy or protest against them.

This came as the Syrian government forces advanced in the militant-infested parts of the western city of Homs, and killed dozens of militants.

The Syrian forces also restored security in industrial area of Qaboun near the capital Damascus, killing a number of militants there.

Officials say the army forces also seized dozens of Israeli-made rockets inside the militants' hideout during the mop-up operation.

Reports also said that army soldiers made advances against the militants in the al-Hujaira area near Damascus.

The Syrian army has conducted successful operations against the foreign-backed Takfiri militants over the past weeks, with the army establishing control over the strategically important town of Qusayr, near the Lebanese border, in early June.

Turmoil has gripped Syria for over two years, and many people, including large numbers of Syrian soldiers and security personnel, have been killed in the foreign-sponsored militancy.

American boots on Syrian Soil?  nah they are tofrighten, smile Assad smile

This always happen and an indication of the end being near for the militants.  Turning against each other has dramatically weakened them in the face of the Syrian army.

When this is over, Syria need to go after those who sent the invading terrorists.  You could very well see a boomerang on Saudi and Qatar in the near future.
