Ministerial “Code of Conduct” gazetted
…no penalties, vague time frame for officials to take action
After reviewing the document earlier this year, one of TIGI’s main recommendations had been for penalties the State could impose for specific breaches by Ministers and officials to be incorporated within the Code of Conduct. According to the anti-corruption advocate, the Code was silent on these penalties.
But while the Code lists transgressions such as taking and soliciting bribes, exhibiting discrimination while discharging one’s duties and using public property for unofficial purposes, the Code remains completely silent on what form penalties, if any, will take.
Interesting indeed.
The "code of conduct" is a further embarrassment in "words" when ministers were supposed to conduct themselves as "honorable public servants" of the people in the first place. The same goes to social cohesion ministry that was established to broaden the government to advance hate and division among the people, rather than to unite them and provide equal justice and opportunity. A ministry within the ministry is another way to squander the nation's money when it's not required.
Simona Broomes is the star gyuurrl of the Ministerial Code of Conduct and she has a famous video to prove it. Her behavior is a perfect reflection of the other members of her party.
Before Mitwah cry all day about Jagdeo and Rohee, he might want to address the likes of Simona Broomes. Make some good use of his advisory skills!!!
