Former Guyana U19 pacer Keon Morris turned in a commendable performance to help Woodland Cricket Club capture the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board Division one South championship recently. Morris scored 42 not out as Woodland CC posted 136-5, batting first at Powergen Cricket Club ground, against Heritage Youth Organisation (HYO) in the final. HYO needed eight from 12 balls, and Morris was asked to bowl the penultimate over; he did well to contain the batsmen, picking up one wicket and conceded just two runs in the process as they were restricted to 129-8 in reply. Morris finished with 2-14. Morris, who plays for Transport Sports Club in Georgetown, ended the tournament with 180 runs and six wickets. In the two-day league, Morris scored 168 runs from five innings at an average of 42 with his best being 88 versus San Franique CC in a drawn game. He picked up 20 wickets at an average of 10.1 with a best of 6-96 in the same game. His team finished second in the league behind HYO.
