MSC Open League Basketball Championship … Royals could strengthen themselves with win over Pistons, Flames look to upset Jets

Victory Valley Royals could establish themselves as one of the favoured clubs in this year’s Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) Open League Basketball Championship which resumes this evening with another double header card at the MSC hard court. They face little known Christianburg Pistons in the night cap at 20.30hrs but the first game pits Amelia’s Ward Jets, who can reestablish themselves with a victory when they meet Block 22 Flames in the first game at 18.30hrs.
Seeking their first will be Jets who have won and lost once after two matches, having been beaten by Victory Valley Royals but winning against top ranked Retrieve Raiders. They are favoured when they come up against Flames who began this tournament with a win versus the Pistons and would want to gain another win to move to four points.
The other game would be important also as the Pistons would hope to score a win and be competitive, but their task is huge facing this Royals side which posted a record 150-39 win against Falcons and were too good for the Jets, much-less this Christianburg Pistons side now seeking to find their feet returning to this level.
On Saturday there will be another two more matches with Falcons versus Flames and Raiders against Royals in big match-ups. The top four teams will advance to the semifinals and then decide the finalists.
Several trophies, replicas and medals are at stake in this championship which will determine the Linden Senior Club basketball champions
