I thought Guyana had elections to elect their Presidents...is there something major that happened that would make him resign?

The election that placed the PPP/C in power in 1992 was certified by international agencies as fair and proper since in the mid-1960's.

It is on record that the international agencies publicly stated that the elections of the PNCR since in the 1960's were fraudulently conducted.

The recount of the last elections in 2015 where the difference was far less than 1%, is still to be done and the matter is pending.

When election results are two percent or less, there must be a recount with representatives from all political groups present to witness and verify the results.
