A 17-year-old boy has reportedly told police that he and other young friends tried to strangle Pegasus Taxi Service driver Rudrinauth Jeeboo at a lonely spot, and when the victim survived that attack, they took him to another area and beat him to death.
The teen was arrested on Tuesday and police have since linked him and a group of other youths to the murder of Raphael Campbell, another taxi driver, as well as to a string of carjackings in the Kingston area.

Jeeboo was murdered and dumped in a garbage heap in Caneview Avenue, South Ruimveldt on Friday, December 27, 2014.
His car was recovered in Guyhoc Gardens.
Jeeboo’s killers were reportedly still using his stolen cell phone and police officials said that diligent monitoring of phone records enabled detectives to track the teen down last Tuesday.
Kaieteur News understands that in the presence of a female relative, the Drysdale Street, Charlestown suspect gave police a full confession, in which he implicated himself, an elder sibling, who is still at large and others in Jeeboo’s murder, as well as the murder of Beterverwagting taxi driver Raphael Campbell, who was slain between January 2 and 3.
According to police sources, the teen alleged that he, a sibling and a third individual, stopped Jeeboo in Quamina Street and requested that he take them to an area near the Joint Services Housing Scheme, Greater Georgetown.
There, the youths reportedly tried to strangle their victim, but failed to kill him.
They reportedly then took Jeeboo to Caneview Avenue, South Ruimveldt, where they allegedly beat him to death

before making off with his car, phone and other belongings.
About a week later, the teen, his sibling and others allegedly murdered taxi driver Raphael Campbell. He was shot in the head and his car stolen. Some of the suspects were apprehended on the Soesdyke/Linden highway with the slain man’s car.
Shawn Edinboro, a 21-year-old ex-policeman; Sean Collins, 17, and Michael Bishop, also 17, were charged with Campbell’s demise.
Police believe that the teens had intended to sell both vehicles.
Kaieteur News has confirmed that the 17-year-old and a 16-year-old friend were charged yesterday for allegedly attacking two taxi drivers between December 26 and December 30 and relieving them of their vehicles and other valuables.
They were both remanded on charges of robbery under arms and robbery with violence.
