Mits, Guyana used to have a better singer than your African friend.

I'm referring to an Afro songster who used to perform regularly during the 1960s and 1970s Saturday evenings on a radio program called GEET NEERALA. The man's surname was Harper; I can't remember his first name. He was the father of a Guyanese cricketer.

Harper sang a wide range of old Hindi songs better than some of his Indo peers. A lot of people listening to the radio didn't have the faintest idea that a black man was belting out those tunes.

I heard that name before. There was also Ramjohn Holder.  Nigerians love Bollywood songs too.

The man's name was Kalamadeen Harper or something like that. He adopted the First Name as his singing identity.
