Siggy, I agree with you here. Time is overdue for entrepreneurs to shift their mindset from commerce to manufacturing. The Guyana economy is crying out for value-added goods.
With regard to rice, there are opportunities to make and package rice cakes, rice krispies, instant rice and other rice-based products, as is done in India. The Caribbean islands are a promising market.
Anything with Coconut and Bamboo is another area Guyana could get into.
The place is rich in these areas but no one is taking them to the moon here, never mind what our GNI expert on moon travel insists.
