Tucber Park CC of New Amsterdam have cemented their place in the final of the 2015 Berbice Cricket Board, New Building Society Limited forty-over second division cricket competition after defeating Courtland CC of the Lower Corentyne area by seven wickets with 1.5 overs to spare.
In the match played recently at the Cumberland Ground, Tucber Park won the toss and inserted Courtland CC who made 132 for 9. Jamal Cort top scored with 26, while Travis Williams got 25 and Troy Mathieson 13.
Bowling for Tucber Park, young pacer Omar Weatherspoon took 2 for 18, Leon Swammy, Niall Smith, Joel Seitaram and Keon DeJesus took a wicket each.
In reply, Keon DeJesus and former national youth wicketkeeper/batsman Hakeem Hinds made 37 not out and 36 not out respectively, while Steve Deonarine made 16. Bowling for Courtland CC, skipper John Percival and Timothy McDonald took a wicket apiece.
Tucber Park will now play Rose Hall Town in the final at Albion Sports Complex on a date to be announced.
