High school sex video stuns Education Ministry
Two home-made videos purportedly showing students of a top secondary school engaging in sexual activity, has sparked condemnation from sections of society. The videos, after complaints to social site, FaceBook, keep being taken down but as soon one video clip is removed another is put up. The students appeared to be wearing the uniform of St. Rose’s High School. One video is only 15 seconds long. It shows a teen sitting in the corner on the floor, up against the wall, receiving what appears to be oral sex, from a schoolmate. The girl has her shoes off and is backing the camera while the boy is smiling. The camera shifts around and focuses on another boy and girl kissing. The second girl is facing the camera; her shirt is unbuttoned revealing a white sports bra. It appears that another female was the one holding the camera. The other video was even more graphic showing details of one of the girl performing oral sex. One of the girls was heard cursing, asking what happened to her song. The young teens are smiling and are aware that their sexual acts are being recorded. Kaieteur News was told that the videos were made in the home of one of the girls. Contacted yesterday, Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand, said that her ministry became aware of the video on Thursday, October 2. However, it was only brought to her attention last night. “We are going to do what is in the best interest of the children immediately involved. I am informed and being advised from professionals in the ministry. We are still investigating. We don’t have all the details yet. The details will help guide us.” The official said that incident is indeed unfortunate. According to the Minister, Guyana is in a world where the people are exposed to the many advances in technology. The nation has to come to grips with the effects that it has with citizens needing to be more responsible with what their children are being exposed to and viewing. Minister Manickchand also said that the students involved are yet to be identified. However, the school authorities know who they are. The children and their parents were summoned before they were ordered to report to the Welfare Department of the Education Ministry today.
