they were caught red handed on Sunday.
According to information Manoj Kumar Singh, 43, a rice and livestock farmer of Don Robin Farm, East Coast Berbice, has being losing stocks on a regular basis. The man said that on Sunday around 14:30 hrs some of his animals were on the road not too far from his home.
He subsequently received a call that three boys just stole his goat on the road and placed it in their car. He immediately left home in his car and headed to where his animals were.
In the meanwhile the thieves were heading further up the Corentyne with the animals and some residents decided to follow them.
The police were informed and quickly set up a roadblock at Whim, further up the Corentyne.
Not long after a speeding Silver Grey Toyota motor car PRR 9273 was stopped at the roadblock.  And a goat was seen standing in the back seat with two passengers sitting on both sides.

The men were apprehended and taken into custody. Not long after a number of residents including Singh converged on the scene. Only one animal, a ram was spotted in the vehicle. A check of the trunk revealed a large quantity of animal hair and dung.
The men when questioned told investigator that they had struck down the animals on the road and did not know whose it was and they were taking it to the station.  They could not explain why they passed the Albion Police Station. They also could not answer why the vehicle was not damaged or why the goat was not injured.
The men are in custody and the car has been impounded.
